earthmine is indexing reality.
We’re creating an entirely new datamine about our earth that is open, connected, flexible, immersive and scalable. A spatially accurate, truly 3D inventory of our world. It just may be the link that’s been missing between information and places.

Well…I don’t know but it seems kind of ambitious this project, I mean…the entire world???
If they can truly make it, then I’m looking forward this, and I think they’ll win…let’s say…a lot of money.

More info about this?

Loading ... Loading ... How can you build an electronic cage system that is able to feed the animal, and automatically cleans the cage after 8 meals?
This was my final project for ‘Digital/Logic Systems’ at the college.
The goal was to create a cage system with the following features:

- While the animal is eating, the cage cannot be cleaned;
- Feeding the animal takes 4 clocks;
- You can only re-feed the animal when the previous feeding process is finished and the “feed switch” was previously turned off;
- After 8 meals, the cage should automatically initiate the cleaning process;
- The cleaning process takes 4 clocks to complete, and a new process can only be started when previous processes are over.

So…how can you do this? Like this…

It took ages for us to put this working…but we made it :D ah ah
Congrats to my working group!

Loading ... Loading ... Oh God…!
I remember the good old days, when I use to spend my time playing games like Biomenace. I played this game so many times…and now, more than 15 years later, looking back to it and playing it again…well that’s cool!
I mean…this are the kind of games that will never leave your head. It’s not a 3d game, with a surreal graphic engine, or an amazing physics…it’s just a few bad colored pixels, with a “system sound” theme (very good to hear though), and probably a lot lines of code. It’s not a game where you have a world to explore, or a million things to do and choose from…but damn…this is a game! and may I say…a very good one!
At least for me it was, and still is. I remember the time I had to initiate windows with the console, or insert a disk and write ‘dir p’ just to play games like this one.
This is a classic. I mean…I shure enjoy doing some head shots in CoD2, or explore the amazing world of San Andreas…but I think those games will never get into me like games like Biomenace did. It’s funny how simple games with bad quality audio, and bad quality graphics can give you so much pleasure like a kick ass graphics and audio game.
Those were good times…oh yeah they were.
So…I’ll be posting some classical DOS/WIN games once in a while, just like this one so you can remember the good old days. The first one is Biomenace.

Have fun!

Loading ... Loading ... If you still didn’t know…it’s true. On June 30, microsoft plans to quit on XP and no more copies of this product will be sold.
The big company is betting on Vista but apparently, users and clients are not very satisfied with this decision. There’s even a ‘SAVE XP’ petition already with 21,572 signatures.
Most people say “Vista sucks”: companies say that Vista is not reliable and developers think not even Vista SP1 will beat XP.
In a recent poll of more than 250 of XP clients, PatchLink noted that only 2 percent said they are already running Vista. The others will stick to XP or just move themselves to Linux/MacOS.
It looks like Vista has too many bugs, vulnerabilities, and malware that just don’t get fixed. Even the updates can lead your PC to blue screens.
In my case, I can say I tried Vista but in a few weeks I had enough of it. Currently I’m on XP/Fedora.

If you think it’s worth to sign the petition then take a go: SAVE XP PETITION

Take care.

Loading ... Loading ... So…as you all know (if you don’t know, then you should :P), I released a project, some time ago, named ShortcutMan.G.
ShortcutMan.G (or SMG) is an application that is able to store your shortcuts so you can keep your desktop a little cleaner.
The last released version was 2.0, which was able to store a maximum of 20 shortcuts.
I then started working on version 3.0, but then I got into college, and started learning C, and this, and that…and I just stopped working in SMG.
Personally, It think it is a shame because the application was getting known and was starting to appear in bigger sites like softpedia, freewarefiles and others…currently it has about 800 downloads.

So…this is what I though.
I’m looking for a programmer (visual basic.net 2005) to continue the project and finish version 3.0.
However, the project/programmer will have to follow some ‘rules’:

- There will be no earnings with this project. This means you get no money for finishing it (neither do I);
- This application is and will always be freeware, so you will not be able to commercialize it;
- I intend to make it open-source (I’m still thinking about it);
- You will need some previous knowledge and experience in visualbasic.net 2005 (you don’t need an advanced knowledge though…but you need some experience
);
- You will need some patience to understand the code and continue where I left;
- You will have to follow a “pre-made feature list” that I had planned to do for version 3.0 (you can had extra features…if I approve them…see next point);
- New ideas can only be executed if two parts (me and you) are in agreement;
- Copyright will always have my name in it in future versions (and yours of course);
- You will have to finish the rest of the project alone probably (this means I will not help you…that’s why I’m posting this).

And that’s all I can remember for now.
So…if you like the idea and you would like to join me in this project you can contact me at webmaster@crwld.org.

You can get more information about this project at crwld.org/smg.

I hope I get some proposals because I would really like to see another version on the net.

Take care!
