Apparently there is a DX10 version available for windows XP (which I did not know).
DX10 was supposed to work only with Vista but it seems that Cody Brocious, the Alky Project leader, has released a version of DX10 do XP.
However, this is not an official release from Microsoft and results are not guaranteed, and neither the stability of your computer.
Event though, if you wish to know more about this project or if you want to give it a try, you can visit the Alky Project web site.

Take care!

Loading ... Loading ... So the last post was about accessing your Windows files in Linux. This one is about accessing your Linux files in Windows.
In this case it’s pretty simple…however in Windows we have a few limitations (really?).
All you have to do is…nothing. DiskInternals Linux Reader will do everything for you. However, you are only able to read (I guess that’s why they call it Linux Reader) from the partition, what means you can not write to it.

First of all, DiskInternals Linux Reader is absolutely free. Secondly, the program provides for read-only access and does not allow you to make records in Ext2/Ext3 file system partitions. This guarantees that the interference in an alterative file system will not affect the work of Linux later. Apart from this, it is necessary to note, that it gives you an opportunity to use common Windows Explorer for extracting data.

So now you are able to view and extract your Linux files in Windows.
I think it’s great really, even though you can not write. It’s freeware and it just makes it very easy for us to get files from Linux to Windows.
You can get more information and download the program at: diskinternals.com

Have fun!

Loading ... Loading ... If you still didn’t know…it’s true. On June 30, microsoft plans to quit on XP and no more copies of this product will be sold.
The big company is betting on Vista but apparently, users and clients are not very satisfied with this decision. There’s even a ‘SAVE XP’ petition already with 21,572 signatures.
Most people say “Vista sucks”: companies say that Vista is not reliable and developers think not even Vista SP1 will beat XP.
In a recent poll of more than 250 of XP clients, PatchLink noted that only 2 percent said they are already running Vista. The others will stick to XP or just move themselves to Linux/MacOS.
It looks like Vista has too many bugs, vulnerabilities, and malware that just don’t get fixed. Even the updates can lead your PC to blue screens.
In my case, I can say I tried Vista but in a few weeks I had enough of it. Currently I’m on XP/Fedora.

If you think it’s worth to sign the petition then take a go: SAVE XP PETITION

Take care.
